Amenities
The location is central and easy to walk to shops, cafes and the waterfront. The room and bathroom were very compact and presented nice. It even had a fridge, which was great.
It's in a beautiful old building with an old style lift which was great. As the building is old it has thin glass windows that don't block out street noise, and at night time it was very noisy from traffic and people until about midnight.
The cleanliness was a letdown, there were long black hairs in the shower, bathroom, over the floor and even in the bed which didn't belong to me. Also dusty around the edges of the floor and some surfaces.
To get the check-in instructions I had to log into an external portal to Airbnb and provide personal marketing information such as age group, and reason for travel. Even though I asked if they could provide chech-in information via Airbnb, I was directed back to the hosts own portal. The location is great and super convenient for everything, and room is located within a beautiful heritage building. Host was extremely responsive and picked up immediately when I called to let them know they have provided incorrect check-in instructions with the wrong door code, so this was quickly resolved. The room had a strange smell when first entered, but I opened the window and it was gone after an hour. Bathroom was spotless, but the window sill right next to the bed was very dusty, puts me off a little as it was right next to where I was sleeping.
Someone mentioned in their review about how noisy it is at night, and my god they were right. The only major downside is the noise level even at 3 - 5am in the morning, there were constant yelling, hollering, fighting, shop alarm going off and car hooning on the street in the middle night, both nights which I stayed, so my sleep quality was not great. Overall, I think it ok for the price, could be a tad bit more affordable though. Had a wonderful week! Highly recommend this place. Clean and tidy! Had everything I needed. Great location your 5 mins walk from the ocean, 3 mins walk from Westfields and 2 mins away from all the bus routes you need to get around Geelong. Will definitely be back! Peace guys! Small but perfect! Brilliant host, great for work, thoughtful touches, clean and an excellent location
